Somerset County Maple Syrup

About Our Maple Syrup

Situated in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, Somerset county is known as the land of milk and maple. The mineral rich soil of the region gives our maple sap a unique, all-natural, maple flavor that is known throughout the United States. Many of the small family-run maple camps have been in business for generations. Because most camps are family owned and operated, quality is of the highest importance and is ensured.  These family-run maple camps see the sap from their trees to your table, ensuring the highest quality, all-natural maple syrup.

Maple syrup production is one of the oldest agricultural enterprises in North America and was first made and used by the indigenous peoples of North America, and the practice was adopted by European settlers, who gradually refined production methods. The equipment has changed but the process used for transforming sap into syrup remains the same. It is a symbol of simpler times, family involvement, and hard work.

Somerset County Maple Syrup is Grade A – Amber Maple Syrup, which has a rich and flavorful taste or Grade A – Dark Maple Syrup with a dark color and a more robust or stronger taste than lighter color classes.

Somerset County Maple Exporters produce high quality, flavorful, and robust pure maple syrup products, making them among the best on the market today. Somerset County is Pennsylvania’s largest producer of maple syrup and maple syrup products. Having one of the highest elevations, 3,213 feet above sea level, it has the perfect climate for the best maple syrup production during the freezing/thawing cycles in the springtime. In addition to Somerset’s perfect climate, this coal producing region is soil-rich in mineral content which contributes to the syrup’s rich and robust flavor.
